Fort Bragg

Located just .2 of a mile from Gateway Inn & Suites, Fort Bragg North Carolina is home to some of the most well-known divisions of the army including the Army's Special Forces (Green Berets). The prestigious 82nd Airborne Division and the XVIII Airborne Corps reside in Fort Bragg as well the world famous Golden Knights, the U.S. Army's Parachute Team.

Pope Air Force Base

One of the oldest installations of the Air Force, Pope Air Force Base is home to the 43d Airlift Group. The Combat Control School which is the training center for many Airmen in the Airforce Special Operations Command is located here.

Airborne and Specials Operations Museum

Dedicated to the airborne troops and the special operations forces, the 59,000 square feet Airborne and Special Operations Museum provides plenty to explore. View artifacts, audio and visual displays and even a motion simulator as you gain a deeper respect for this division of our soldiers through various times in history.

Freedom Memorial Park

Located across from the Airborne and Special Operations Museum; the Freedom Memorial Park is a tribute to all who have served our country throughout history. Stroll through the park while honoring the men and women who have defended our country and have been Killed in Action and POW/MIA.

North Carolina Veterans Park

Fayetteville, North Carolina is home to the first state park solely dedicated to our military veterans. The North Carolina Veterans Park pays homage to all branches of the Armed Services and focus on veterans from over 100 North Carolina counties. Head to the 3,500 Visitors Center and check out the Service Ribbon Wall made of fused glass and a chandelier made up of 33,500 dog tags.

Fascinate-U Children's Museum

Located in the heart of downtown Fayetteville, Fascinate-U Children's Museum boasts interactive exhibits for kids of all ages. Give the weather forecast, respond to 911 calls, slam your gavel while wearing a judge's robe or even go grocery shopping! Fascinate-U focuses on one principle…I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand!

Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum

Located in a restored rail road depot, the Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum features two floors of exhibits. Both self-guided and guided tours are available and the museum can accommodate groups of up to 60 at one time.

Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex

Go back through time as you go back through the history of the state of North Carolina. Learn about how we lived from the Paleo-Indian period through the American Revolution and even into the early 1900s. Choose from exhibits inside the museum, Arsenal Park and the 1897 Poe House.

Cape Fear Botanical Gardens

Stroll along Cross Creek and the Cape Fear River on over 77 landscaped acres that make up the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens. View more than 2,000 varieties of plants with a variety blooming each season. Most people choose a self-guided tour to enjoy the serene setting but guided tours are available.

Fayetteville Rose Garden

Stop and smell the roses at the Fayetteville Rose Garden located at the Fayetteville Technical Community College. Featuring over 1,000 rose bushes, you will be amazed by the colors and smells from such a wide variety.

Smith Lake

Smith Lake is open to the public and located just 1 mile from Fort Bragg North Carolina and provides mountain bike trails, a beach, picnic areas, playgrounds, paddleboats and a water ski shop. If you are looking for a little more adventure then try out a game of paintball while visiting Smith Lake.

Zip Quest Waterfall and Treetop Adventure

Want to see the natural settings of Fayetteville and Cumberland County North Carolina? Try out the view from the treetops when travelling by zip line! Approximately 2 ½ hours long, this unique tour will give you the beauty and serenity of the natural environment as well as the excitement of being suspended through the trees. After your zip line adventure head over to Carver's Falls for one of the best hikes in the area.

Fayetteville FireAntz Hockey

The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) brings hockey to Fayetteville with the FireAntz. Enjoy the high energy of a hockey team right here in Fayetteville, North Carolina!

Fayetteville Motor Speedway

Every Saturday night the 4/10 dirt track at the Fayetteville Motor Speedway comes alive with the excitement of racing. The track was built in 1968 and saw the great Dale Earnhart win several times. The track also hosts a variety of special events throughout the year.

Fayetteville Motorsports Park

Experience the thrill of IHRA racing on the ¼ mile sanctioned track at the Fayetteville Motorsports Park. Bracket racing is run on a 1/8 mile track. Races occur on Saturdays with a variety of other events occurring throughout the week.

Fayetteville Swampdogs

Come out and enjoy some hometown baseball at the Fayetteville Swampdogs stadium. Games are played from May through August and offer a variety of promotions and fireworks on certain game days. Don't forget your cracker jacks!
